Seeing Stars In Dixie

Betty L. Baker as Clemmie
Betty is a Shreveport native and retired Postmaster. She started acting in community theatre in 2001 as Mama Wheelis in Shreveport Little Theatre's "Daddy's Din' ...Who's Go The Will?" You may also remember her performances as "the church lady" in "Smoke On The Mountain" and "Sanders' Family Christmas." More recently, Betty played the role ob Betty Meeks in SLT's "The Foreigner" and Mrs. Stephanie in "To Kill A Mockingbird." Betty finds acting demanding but fun, each role offering her the opportunity to "become" something new and exciting! She offers to Dick King many thanks for this wonderful opportunity, and the same to the cast for all their terrific support.

E. Reagan Cassanova as Tootie
Reagan is thrilled to be back on East Bank Theatre's stage. She was last seen there in "Are We There Yet?" and, prior to that, "A Christmas Story." Most recently, you may have seen here in the Performing Art Center's production of "Anything Goes' as Emma. When not acting, Reagan teaches Grade 6 Reading and English at Youree Drive Middle School. She sends all her love to her family and her husband, Sloan.
Eugen Crook as Glease
A veteran of many stage productions locally, Eugen enjoys flexing his acting muscles in a variety of roles, from Australian War Victim in East Bank Theatre's "Hasty Heart," to FBI Agent in the Performing Art Center's "Anything Goes," to numerous solo characters for Theatre Eclectic. In additional to his "real" job with the U.S. Postal Service, Eugene serves as Technical Director for EBT. Eugen says he's happy to be working with Dick King again and is please to be sharing the stage with his wife Sylvia Rachal.
Sylvia Rachal as Marjorie
Sylvia enjoys acting, but admits she gets just as much pleasure from working behind the scenes with her husband, Eugen Crook, East BAnk Theatre's Technical Director. Her last role was that of Mrs. Washington in EBT's "Horowitz and Mrs. Washington, " directed by the late Anna Chappell. Sylvia operates her own public relations and event planning company, and volunteers her time with a number of local organizations. She and Eugen have one daughter, Jade, who has also appeared in many theatrical productions.
Charity Schubert as Jo Beth
Charity graduated from Centenary College in 2005 with her B. A. in French, and in 2006 with her B. A. in Theatre. She has appeared in numberous productions at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse; this is her fourth performance at East Bank Theatre. Charity is currently employed at C.H. Robinson and i a member of the Company Repertory Theatre. She would like her parents, her grandmother, and especially her best friend, Sarah, for their love and support, and Dick King for the opportunity to work with such a fun and wonderful cast and crew.

Dick King, Director
Dick appreared recently in Shreveport Little Theatre's production of "I Do, I Do," and last season in East Bank Theatre's "Last of the Red Hot Lovers." In December 2005, Dick directed "A Christmas Story" at EBT, and has since started a new program, "Senior Stars," for the Bossier ARts Council. During business hours, Dick is a custom picture framer and antiques dealer at Campus Collectibles (next to Centenary College and across from George's Grill.)
